HOW MANY VIDEOGRAPHERS WILL BE AT OUR WEDDING DAY?
There will always be at least two videographers at your wedding.
DO WE GET TO MEET YOU BEFORE THE WEDDING?
We love to meet before the wedding! If you live pretty close to where we’re located, we’d love to grab coffee and say hi! Otherwise we’d love to setup a video chat before hand to go over details and answer questions.
HOW LONG AFTER THE WEDDING DO I GET MY FILM?
We guarantee delivery of your film within 8 weeks of the wedding date. Most of the time it’s much quicker, but it just depends on where in the year your wedding lands and the amount of backlog we have.
DO YOU RECORD THE AUDIO FOR THE CEREMONY & SPEECHES?
For the ceremony we use two Lav mic's to capture the audio for both the Bride and Groom, as well the officiant. Don’t worry, you won’t have any wires showing, it’s discreet. It also won’t interfere with any signals coming from your DJ. It’s all internally recorded.
We've found it works much better to put a Lav mic on only the groom. This Lav mic is able to pick up the audio from both the bride and groom during the ceremony at a clear crisp quality. We also throw a lav mic on the officiant as a backup.

We hired a photographer. Why hire a professional videographer, too?
We love photos and want you to hire a photographer. Ideally you’d hire both. We personally feel that video captures the emotions, the sounds, the energy, the vibe, and the feel of your wedding day in a way that still photos just can’t.
P.S. If you're still in need of a photographer, we highly recommend Lauren Day Photography. We make a great photo/video team and would love to work together to deliver you the best experience possible!

Will WE RECEIVE ALL OF THE raw footage?
In our cinematic style of videography, the events and moments of your wedding day are thoughtfully filmed with the final edited version of your film already in mind. Many times, these seemingly random little 2-3 second clips are shot completely out of chronological order with the intention of placing all the little pieces together later in post production to form a cohesive story of your day.
Without our editing, these scenes and clips, many of which are just 2-3 seconds long, would just appear to be a hodgepodge of random clips that carry very little meaning. Often times we shoot the same clip 3-4 times 2-3 different ways to make sure we get one good usable clip.
However, if the complete raw footage is something that is quite important to you, we can definitely customize your package to include it!

How long do you need to be there?
It's best if we arrive 1.5-2 hours before the bride puts on her dress, and if we leave a half hour after the dance floor opens.
Why is your pricing lower than local videographers?
At JHV, we understand how wedding expenses can add up, and that is why we strive to offer top-tier wedding films at an affordable rate. If our packages do not line up with your expectations, we would be more than happy to customize a package that best fits your needs!
WHAT IS THE "DOCUMENTARY EDIT" ADD-ON?
The Documentary Edit is an uncut video of your entire ceremony from start to finish, and all the key parts of your reception & prep put together. The purpose of this film is to give you the opportunity to watch all these key moments just as they happened on the day itself.
The Documentary Edit has no additional voiceover or background music added during editing. The audio in the film is exactly what you would have heard on the big day and is the ideal way to relive these key parts of your wedding.
This film includes the entire ceremony, special dances, speeches, toasts, cake cutting, and any other big stand-alone moments you choose to do such as a first look or reading letters. This film varies in length depending on your day’s unique timeline. Whatever the pieces add up to be, that’s the length of the film (typically 1-2 hours).
***This film is completely separate from the film that comes with your wedding package and is just an "add-on."
